If you’ve found your way to this page, you’re probably aware I write and sing. My passion for serving Christ through music leads to me to find great joy in providing vocals for celebrations of life, retreats and weddings. I love ministering to hearts in their deepest times of need and if this is you, I invite you to contact me so we can talk more.
I am both classically and commercially trained having spent years working with some of the best vocal and acting coaches in the United States. Prior to completing my Master of Arts, I was a recording artist on Universal Republic Records, New York, and before that I spent a significant amount of growing up years “on the road”, which afforded me the opportunity to meet and experience some unique people and events.
Before signing with Universal Republic, I completed high school at 15 and am so grateful my parents allowed me to begin college at that time. From the time I was a young child, I performed extensively throughout my home state of Texas–and on the weekends my mom would drive me to surrounding states. I made fond memories, memorized many a small town and gained invaluable insight about people. As a teenage artist, I had two top-charting singles on the Texas Music Chart followed by my first nationally released single landing at #1 on the Billboard Singles Sales Chart.
I went from traveling from city to city, hotel to hotel to now momming, ministering and musing over a blog, and while people are more than curious about the “why”, it’s simple and complicated all at the same time. The long and short of it, however, is this: the music/entertainment industry for the most part, does not mesh with my beliefs and values as a Christian. I didn’t always feel that way, mind you–but God led me to a place where I knew life was too short and things we love, GOOD things, can become idols if we aren’t careful. I want my life to make a lasting contribution–it’s the personal connections with people and being there in moments that shape lives that makes the greatest difference.
There is much more I could say, but perhaps a dinner conversation would be better than a blog!! Since we may never meet in person, I hope you are humored by things you read here and I sincerely hope you feel welcome!
